Aaron Donald return update takes exciting new turn for Rams

Rumors regarding a shocking Aaron Donald return to the Los Angeles Rams are beginning to heat up.

When the Rams acquired Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns last Monday, the consensus was that there was a chance Donald (who walked away from football in 2024) could feel compelled to take Los Angeles’ pass rushing production to an elevated level by unretiring and inking a short-term deal with the 2022 Super Bowl Champions.

On Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter took things up a notch by making an exciting new statement about the odds of Donald making a headline-worthy NFL comeback.

"Everybody is acknowledging that it is a possibility," Schefter said. "And the fact that it is even a possibility in June tells me that I think there's every possibility it will become more real in July.”

"I think, if and when they present a plan to him as to how he would be used, I think it's more likely than not that he'll be back."

Schefter’s tone suggests it’s no longer a matter of if Donald will sign with the Rams this summer but rather when a potential deal could materialize. The eight-time first-team All-Pro defensive tackle has plenty of time to work his way back into NFL shape and ensure that he possesses the high-level conditioning necessary to make a significant impact upon returning to the gridiron.

If both sides continue to express interest in a massive 2026-27 reunion, Los Angeles will undoubtedly boast one of the scariest pass-rushing units in the league.
