There's going to be plenty made about Bill Murray during the Final Four men's basketball matchup between Illinois and UConn.
Murray is a known Fighting Illini fan, but his son is an assistant coach for the Huskies.
But how about expanding this story further?
There's an overlap between Murray and Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, too.
It all came to light in a picture circulating on social media on Saturday. Scheyer was an Illinois recruit.
Here's a look at the photo:
The Tribune went back into the archives to find some photos of Murray at the 2005 Final Four. And look who’s next to him, over his right shoulder, when he was 17 and being heavily recruited by the Illini: pic.twitter.com/RdTOocvUXZ
— Andrew Carter (@_andrewcarter) April 4, 2026The Chicago Tribune also shared that Murray confirmed he'd be rooting for UConn and his son on Saturday night.
Scheyer sure wishes he was still in the picture right now, too. The problem is that UConn beat the Blue Devils in the Elite Eight with a crazy comeback and an even crazier last-second shot by Braylon Mullins.
So now there's Murray in a battle of his two favorite teams, while Scheyer can only watch.
