An 85-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a falling tree inside a Queens park on Saturday night in a fatal freak mishap, according to police.

Cops responded to a 911 call at Forest Park shortly after 8:30 p.m. and found the elderly man unconscious, the department said Sunday.

An NYPD spokesperson said the man, who has not been identified, was declared dead at the scene.

Cops have not determined if the tragic accident was trigged by to thunderstorms that swept in with rain and high winds Saturday night, uprooting several trees in the park.

Police said an investigation into the incident is under way.

The mishap comes after a similar Memorial Day accident that left a 49-year-old woman injured near East 176th Street and Clay Avenue in Mount Hope in the Bronx when she was struck by a falling tree.

Police attributed the incident to wet weather.

In February, a child and a nun were nearly crushed by a tree that toppled near the Sisters of Life and Sacred Heart Convent in Hell’s Kitchen as Winter Storm Hernando wound down.

Last year, upstate New York twin sisters Emily and Kenni Bisson, both 6, were killed in their sleep when a tree toppled onto their Clark Mills home amid heavy rain and an EF-1 tornado, authorities said.
