I moved to the Midwest from the West Coast just over five years ago, and I haven’t regretted it for a second. There’s just something about Midwesterners. They’re hearty, welcoming, and know how to have a good time without ever making a big deal about it. It’s fun, but it’s polite fun.
The humor out here has that same vibe. It’s a little self-deprecating, a little wholesome, and always delivered with that unmistakable Midwestern tone. You can joke around, but you’re still going to say “ope” and hold the door for someone right after.
