John Cena's last WWE match will be on December 13, 2025, at Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington, DC. Till now, there was a mystery over who could be Cena's last opponent. However, the curtain has been raised for Cena's farewell match.

The Champ has himself announced that there will be a 16-man tournament called 'The Last Time is Now' from superstars of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT to determine his last opponent. He said that the superstar who gets inside the ring in his last match will have to earn the spot.

In this listicle, we will list six superstars who could end up facing John Cena at SNME.

#6 Gunther

Gunther has long been rumored to be Cena's last opponent at SNME. The Ring General may return on Monday Night RAW this week to participate in the tournament and win the competition to square off against the 17-time WWE Champion.

He has been away from the ring since SummerSlam after losing his World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk. He was written off from TV due to an injury after the match, and was supposed to undergo nose surgery. Although there has been no official update from WWE over his medical clearance, there are signs that he could now return to set up his next match.

#5 Bron Breakker

If John Cena intends to put over a superstar in his last match, then there cannot be a better option than Bron Breakker. The Badass is one of the most exciting superstars in the company today.

Within just one and a half years of making his main roster debut, Breakker has stormed to the limelight on his own calibre. He has his eyes set on the World Heavyweight Championship. And now, it's time to score big.

Moreover, he has never had a face-off with John Cena inside the squared circle. The company is certainly preparing him for a big stage, and there couldn't be a better way of getting him over than pitting him against a 17-time WWE Champion.

#4 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre could also be John Cena's last opponent. The Scottish Warrior can enter the tournament this week on SmackDown, as he has lost the WWE Championship match twice in a row to Cody Rhodes.

McIntyre recently spoke up about facing Cena inside the squared circle, and how he would 'tear him to pieces' and 'send him right back to Hollywood'. The match could be an interesting one for sure because these two mavericks haven't clashed against each other inside a WWE ring ever.

#3 Dominik Mysterio

Dominik is currently one of the top running names doing the rounds as Cena's last opponent. There have been rumors that Cena could elevate the 28-year-old superstar in his farewell match.

As a heel, Dom has undoubtedly been impressive so far. He shot himself to fame after winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41, and since then has been doing well. Recently, the Judgment Day member issued a challenge to Cena, saying that he would 'love to put one of the final nails in the coffin of Cena's career'. It remains to be seen how WWE finally puts up its match.

#2 Jey Uso

Jey Uso is another superstar who could end up facing John Cena in his last match. There's an unfinished story between the two since the Royal Rumble earlier this year. Jey had outsmarted Cena in the final moments of the match to secure the maiden Rumble win of his career. Cena was left shell-shocked. And since then, the two haven't had a face-off inside a WWE ring.

The Yeet Master can finally get a lifetime opportunity to face Cena in a match at SNME. All he has to do is win the 16-man tournament starting this week on Monday Night RAW. Let's see if Jey can pull off this stunner.

#1 Joe Hendry

John Cena has said that in his last match, he could even face a superstar who is not even working with WWE. Joe Hendry is currently not a WWE superstar, since he is under contract with TNA Wrestling. All the appearances he has made so far in the Stamford-based promotion were part of the company's cross-over deal with TNA.

However, Hendyr's TNA contract is set to expire by the end of 2025, and there are rumors that he may be headed to WWE. Since John Cena has said that superstars from NXT can also participate in the tournament, that means Joe Hendry has a chance of making it to SNME on December 13, 2025. The former TNA World Champion relishes massive popularity in WWE and has all the reasons to qualify as John Cena's last opponent.

It will be interesting to see if the company wants to have a John Cena vs Joe Hendry match for the first and last time.
