Chris Jericho has been the talk of the town in the world of professional wrestling lately. As per some rumors, Y2J's AEW contract is nearing its end, and hence, he could make a jump to WWE in the coming months. Amid these rumors, the 5-time champions expressed their opinion over The Learning Tree.
Former 3-time AEW World Tag Team Champions Matt & Nick Jackson, who have also been 2-time AEW World Trios Champions, recently talked about happenings around Jericho in pro-wrestling. The Young Bucks believe that the former WWE Champion's presence could still be beneficial for All Elite Wrestling. Many people have already shared their beliefs that Jericho could be interested in making his return to WWE. Some fans see it as the only perfect way to end Y2J's illustrious career in the business.
Speaking on Adam's Apple, Bucks called Jericho the founding father of All Elite Wrestling. Nick Jackson said that they believe the former AEW World Champion is currently figuring things out and thinking about what could be the best decision for him. Matt Jackson added that he loves The Learning Tree and would like to see him continue his work with AEW only.
"He’s a founding father. so of course we want him to stay... We’re not sure where he’s at head space-wise right now. I know he’s, like, on a break. And he’s trying to figure it out on his own. And sometimes you gotta let a wrestler like that figure it out on his own," said Nick Jackson.Check out the full interview below:
Tony Khan is leaving the door open for Chris Jericho's return to AEW
Tony Khan recently talked about Chris Jericho's status with AEW. He revealed many key details, saying that he hopes to see Y2J back in All Elite Wrestling down the line. He left the door open to have Jericho back in his company, while heaping heavy praise for the legend.
Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Khan expressed respect for Jericho and revealed he recently reached out to him to wish him a happy birthday. The AEW President gave credit to the legend for helping to build the Jacksonville-based promotion from the very beginning.
"Chris Jericho is someone who is still with AEW and has been with us from the very beginning. He's been away from us for a bit and he's somebody who, even this year, has had great matches with Bandido, somebody that's been a world champion for us, and was really at the very beginning of AEW, absolutely as key and instrumental as any individual in the launch of AEW." he saidTherefore, as per Tony, Y2J's contribution to the company cannot be recreated. With that said, only time will tell what is in store for Chris Jericho in the world of professional wrestling down the line at the age of 55.
