Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan scripted history after scoring a 33-ball hundred in Jharkhand's clash against Karnataka in the opening day of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Featuring in the middle-order, he scored 125 runs off just 39 deliveries to propel his side to a mammoth 412-9 in the first innings in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, December 24.

Recently recalled into the Indian national team squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand and the 2026 T20 World Cup, Ishan Kishan made the most of his form by smashing 14 sixes and seven fours in his whirlwind knock. After having guided Jharkhand to the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the wicket-keeper is making a massive statement to mount a strong comeback charge.

On that note, let us take a look at the five records made by Ishan Kishan during his 39-ball 125 in JHA vs KAR Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 match.

#1 Second fastest List-A hundred by an Indian

Ishan Kishan ended up breaking the existing record of 35 balls for the fastest hundred held by Punjab's Anmolpreet Singh, but he could not hold onto it for long as Bihar captain, Sakibul Gani, hit a century off just 32 balls to create a new record in Indian cricket.

As a result, the Jharkhand player's 33-ball effort is now the second-highest in Indian List-A history. He is now only one of the two Indian players to have scored a List-A hundred in under 35 deliveries.

#2 Fourth fastest List-A hundred of all time

Ishan Kishan's historic effort does not shatter only Indian records, but records on a global scale as well. While the current record for the fastest List-A hundred belongs to Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk, who scored a 29-ball hundred for South Australia against Tasmania in 2023-24.

With only AB de Villiers' 31-ball effort, and the aforementioned Sakibul Gani's 32-ball hundred ahead of him, Ishan Kishan now holds the record for the fourth fastest hundred in 50-over cricket of all time.

#3 Third on the list for most number of sixes by an Indian in 50-over cricket

Ishan Kishan managed to smash 14 sixes in his carnage against Karnataka, which is now the third most that an Indian player has managed in 50-over cricket. Ace batter Rohit Sharma tops the list after he recorded 16 sixes during his epic knock of 209 runs against Australia in 2013.

Maharashtra batter Ruturaj Gaikwad matched that effort in his unbeaten 220 run knock in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter final clash against Uttar Pradesh. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a 35-ball hundred recently in the 2025-26 edition, hit 15 sixes to take up the second spot.

Ishan Kishan takes up the third spot with his effort, which the likes of Chris Gayle and Corey Anderson hold in ODI cricket.

#4 Fastest hundred at No.6 in List A history

The majority of the quick-fire hundreds of late have been recorded by top-order batters. Jake Fraser-McGurk, AB de Villiers, and Sakibul Gani, struck their historic tons while batting at No.1, No.3, and No.5, respectively.

As a result, the fastest hundred for a No.6 batter is a record now owned by Ishan Kishan. After his stint as an opener in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he dropped down the order, and inflicted a similar damage despite batting in a different position.

#5 Second Fastest hundred by a wicket-keeper in List A cricket

The world record for the fastest hundred by a wicket-keeper is held by AB de Villiers, who kept wickets in the contest, where he smashed a historic 31-ball hundred against the West Indies in Johannesburg.

Ishan Kishan came close to the world record, but has to settle for second place aming wicket-keepers with the fastest hundreds in the 50-over format. Much like AB de Villiers in that match, the Indian left-handed batter is also leading the side while keeping the gloves.
