The Philadelphia Phillies need some bullpen help at the trade deadline. They could get two valuable arms from the same team if they are willing to meet their demands.
The Seattle Times' Adam Jude revealed that the Minnesota Twins want two Top 100 prospects for each of Jhoan Durán and Griffin Jax. Jax and Durán would be great additions to the Phillies, whose bullpen has a 4.28 ERA.
Durán and his electric fastball would slot into the closer's role. The Phillies lost Jose Alvarado to a PED suspension, and he will not be able to pitch in October. Jax had a great year last year, but his ERA is not as great this season. However, his underlying metrics paint a different story. FanSided's Christopher Kline proposed this trade that would bring Durán and Jax to Philadelphia:
- Twins receive: C Eduardo Tait (MLB No. 56, Phillies No .4), 2B Aroon Escobar (MLB No. 86, Phillies No. 5) and RHP Mick Abel (MLB. 92, Phillies No. 6)
- Phillies receive: RHP Jhoan Durán and RHP Griffin Jax
Both pitchers are under control through 2027, so a high asking price may be warranted. This proposal is not what the Twins are reportedly looking for, but three Top 100 prospects are no light return.

"For Philadelphia, the root of the appeal is simple," wrote Kline. "Two controllable bullpen aces who can anchor their late-relief efforts for the next couple of years at least. Durán instantly becomes their shutout closer; Jax might be the very best setup man working today. This eases pressure on Kerkering and Strahm and gives the Phillies four excellent options to cycle through in high-stakes situations."
