The world of Minecraft is filled with different types of mobs. There are villagers that you can trade with, hostile mobs that you need to avoid and fight, and then there are animal mobs that can be kept as a pet or used for resources. However, despite more than a decade since its release and constant updates, the game still lacks animal variety.

This article will list down five new animals that Minecraft fans want and the developers should consider adding to the game. These animals can bring new mechanics, make the world feel more alive, and increase the overall immersion.

5 animal mobs Minecraft should get

1) Mole

Minecraft is a game that involves a lot of digging, especially if you are looking for diamonds. So it seems very fitting that the game should have a mob that can dig the ground. While there is a sniffer mob, it does not spawn naturally and barely does anything useful.

Perhaps Mojang Studios should introduce a mole mob that can be tamed and used to help with the digging process. It will be a cute animal that can clear out a specified amount of region in a few minutes.

2) Duck

While there are not many animals in the game, you can still find a few roaming the land. The problem is that there are no animal mobs in the sky, except the phantom. However, that mob is more of a menace than an animal. Mojang Studios should add the duck mob in the game to balance that situation.

With the release of the Mounts of Mayhem update, the addition of ducks would make the ocean more interesting. These mobs could spawn on land and in water so that the blocky world would feel more populated as well.

3) Skunk

Skunk would be a very interesting addition to the game as it can also act as a hostile mob. The skunk would walk around like a normal animal but if the player attacks it, the mob can spray the players with its poison.

It can also cause a negative status effect on the player, and allow them to collect it to create some special potions for offense. Perhaps the next update should just focus on adding more animals to the game.

4) Penguin

Penguin is the only animal in this list that has the most chances of actually being added to the game. This is because this mob was a part of the 2023 Mob Vote event and while it did not win, it can be added as the same thing happened with the copper golem.

Penguins could populate the colder regions of Minecraft for most part as that region just has the polar bear at the moment.

5) Raven

Ravens could also be a great addition to the game as not only would they populate the blocky world, but also add a new mechanic to the game. A lot of players focus on farming and growing different food items. Ravens could attack the farms and eat the crop if the players do not take care of them.

Mojang Studios could focus on a proper farming update and add new crops, plants, mechanics and the raven mob.
