Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson not only needs to find a new running backs coach, but he also now needs to find an offensive coordinator.
The Bears offensive coordinator since Johnson took the job, Declan Doyle, is being poached by the Baltimore Ravens and new head coach Jesse Minter, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday.
Doyle was able to make the lateral move because Johnson calls offensive plays for the Bears.
While Doyle is on to bigger and better opportunities in the NFL, the Bears need to find a new offensive coordinator with the coaching carousel now weeks in.

There are a few obvious choices for the Bears already on the staff.
Press Taylor, the Bears’ passing game coordinator, could be promoted to the role. Taylor was the Jaguars offensive coordinator from 2022-2024. Although, his arrival in Chicago wasn’t necessarily met with cheers from the fans.
There’s also Antwaan Randle El, the Bears’ receivers coach and assistant head coach. A former college quarterback at Indiana, Randle El had a solid pro career as a receiver for Pittsburgh and Washington. Randle El has coaching stints with Tampa Bay and Detroit, where he worked under Johnson.

J.T. Barrett was an outstanding college quarterback at Ohio State. Chicago’s quarterbacks coach has moved up the ranks under Johnson and the next step could be offensive coordinator.
Outside of in-house candidates, the Bears could target someone like Tanner Engstrand, who was with Johnson in Detroit. When Johnson left the Lions, so did Engstrand, who spent last season with the Jets.
There’s also Will Lawing, who reportedly is set to depart Boston College to join the Lions and Johnson, who is a former teammate of Lawing.
