49ers trading Brock Purdy concept could shake up NFL on draft night

The San Francisco 49ers could always choose to trade Brock Purdy.

There are never enough high-caliber starting NFL QBs to go around, so if Purdy went on the trade block, teams would be interested.

SI's Grant Cohn suggests one wild blockbuster deal in particular: The Tennessee Titans trade for Purdy for a couple of future first-round picks.

Interestingly, the deal wouldn't include this year's No. 1 overall pick, which Cohn writes the Titans would then use to draft Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.

That'd shake things up behind the Titans, where the Browns or Giants could then swoop in to select Miami QB Cam Ward.

It seems like if the 49ers did this deal, they might want to end up with a promising quarterback on a rookie contract.

But even if not, trading Purdy would avoid paying him $60 million per year. Maybe there's enough merit in that.
