49ers sign All-Pro wide receiver's brother after awful Brandon Aiyuk injury update

The San Francisco 49ers are working with a makeshift wide receiver room right now.

They're led by Brandon Aiyuk, except he's part of the reason things are messy. Aiyuk has been out since his season-ending knee injury in 2024, and he's not back yet.

GM John Lynch told reporters that Aiyuk is "not anywhere close to having a concrete timeline" for his return.

In the meantime, the 49ers have signed a wideout with a well-known last name.

Equanimeous St. Brown worked out for San Francisco on Monday and signed a contract on Tuesday, per ESPN's Nick Waggoner

"Gives them a little depth at a time with plenty of questions in that room," writes Waggoner.

Equanimeous is the brother of Lions superstar Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The 49ers' new St. Brown has been in the NFL since 2018 when he was a sixth-round pick by the Packers. He has suited up for Green Bay, Chicago and New Orleans.

Equanimeous has 63 career catches for 928 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

If he's getting big snaps in the regular season, the injury situation (and Jauan Jennings' contract) has not gotten better. But for now, Equanimeous St. Brown should serve as solid depth for the 49ers in training camp.
