49ers injury nightmare continues with Mike Evans, Trent Williams joining laundry list of banged-up players

The San Francisco 49ers have had serious injury issues over the last few seasons, and that only continued in their Week 3 game vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

As the 49ers built a big lead at home vs. Arizona, the team saw several of their most important players go down with injuries. That is on top of the injuries that the 49ers have already experienced this season, which includes a handful of their wide receivers.

While the 49ers continue on into this season, they will once again have to weather these injuries with their depth. Here's a look at the latest injuries for San Francisco.

49ers injuries vs. Cardinals

Despite a strong performance against the Cardinals, the 49ers suffered more injuries to pile onto their already long injury report. Most notable was wide receiver Mike Evans, who needed to be carted off the field after he suffered a ribs injury. Evans looked to be in some significant pain as he was walking off the field initially.

Evans was ultimately diagnosed with a rib strain, which will require more evaluation after the game.

After Evans left, it was left tackle Trent Williams who needed medical assistance next. Williams was diagnosed with a stinger and was declared questionable to return to the game, but not before he also was carted to the locker room.

Williams' injury appeared to occur on a Christian McCaffrey rushing touchdown.

On defense, cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was taken out of the game to undergo a concussion evaluation. A concussion would force him to not only miss the rest of the game, but he would also be put into concussion protocol.

These injuries are just the latest in San Francisco' injury-riddled season. The 49ers have already seen key players like Ricky Pearsall, D'Zhaun Stribling and Nick Bosa suffer injuries that will keep them out for varying degrees of time.
