WWE superstar Jacob Fatu has been out of action since the October 17 episode of SmackDown. The Samoan Werewolf was taken out by an unknown person, right before his match against Drew McIntyre for the No.1 Contender's spot.
There are rumors that the former United States Champion could return to WWE next year, after which he can reveal his attacker. In this listicle, we will discuss four names who could be revealed as Jacob Fatu's attacker.
#1 Former WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre
The needle of suspicion has been on Drew McIntyre from day one. He was supposed to fight Jacob Fatu for the No.1 Contender's spot to take on Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, right before the match, Fatu was seen lying backstage.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has already warned McIntyre of severe consequences if he turns out to be the one behind the attack on Jacob Fatu. McIntyre could also be the person behind the attack on Jacob Fatu because he needed to win that match at any cost to fight Cody for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Winning the match against the Samoan Werewolf might have been difficult. So, he must have thought of taking him out before the match.
Since Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes are slated to take on each other in a Three Stages of Hell match on January 9, the episode of SmackDown next year, Jacob Fatu can return that day to attack McIntyre and reveal his name as the attacker. The two can then feud to begin their storyline.
#3 Austin Theory
Austin Theory could be another superstar who could be behind the attack on Jacob Fatu. Even though the two don't have a rivalry, Theory could have taken him out on the instructions of McIntyre.
Austin Theory is now a part of The Vision. He was the one who took out CM Punk at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames and helped The Vision win the match. Since the attack took place before Survivor Series, Theory might have been in touch with McIntyre, and the Scottish Psycopath might have given him secret instructions to attack Jacob Fatu before the match.
#3 Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa could also be the one behind the attack on Jacob Fatu. He has been at loggerheads with his former teammate since Fatu walked out of Bloodline 2.0, and their rivalry isn't over yet. Jacob turned on Solo on June 7, 2025, during Money in the Bank PLE. The betrayal took place after months of backbiting and gaslighting.
The two clashed for the WWE United States Championship at WWE Night of Champions PLE on June 28, 2025, when a debuting Hikuleo helped Solo Sikoa beat Jacob Fatu and win the US Championship.
The two once again clashed for the US title at SummerSlam in August in a Steel Cage match, but Solo Sikoa won the bout with assistance from his MFT mates. Jacob later took revenge by helping Sami Zayn beat Solo for the US title on the August 29 episode of SmackDown.
Solo Sikoa could have ordered one of his men to secretly take out Jacob Fatu before The Samoan Werewolf beat McIntyre and fought for the Undisputed Championship. This whole backstage attack could have been orchestrated by Solo to just deprive Jacob Fatu of a title shot.
#1 Randy Orton
The Viper Randy Orton could also be the man behind the attack on Jacob Fatu. Although he doesn't have any rivalry with The Samoan Werewolf, Orton might have taken out Fatu just to prevent him from taking a title shot at Cody Rhodes. He might have also been working as Drew McIntyre's secret agent and would have taken out the orders from McIntyre.
The Viper last appeared on SmackDown on the October 3 episode when he teamed up with Cody Rhodes to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
Since then, he has been away from WWE. If Orton is revealed as the man behind the attack on Jacob Fatu, this would be a heel turn for The Apex Predator. His heel turn has been anticipated for a long time, and it can happen soon.
It now remains to be seen who turns out to be Jacob Fatu's attacker.
