4-star safety announces commitment flip from Baylor to Michigan

Four-star safety Jordan Deck has flipped his commitment from Baylor to Michigan, according to multiple sources.

A 6-foot-1.5, 190-pounder from Frisco, Texas, and Lone Star High School, Deck is a consensus top-40 safety in the class of 2026. He had committed to Baylor on June 24, 2025, but made the quick turnaround and joins an already exciting group of future Wolverines.

Michigan did lose four-star cornerback Brody Jennings, who flipped to Miami. However, head coach Sherrone Moore and defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan have to be excited about a secondary headlined by four-star S Andrew Clarke Jr., four-star CB Dorian Barney, and now Deck.

Here is what Deck had to say about his new home, via EJ Holland of On3:

“They have a great culture,” Deck said. “Life after football is fantastic. I’m going to be successful off the field. They’ll take care of me. They have a bunch of like-minded people. That’s why they are in the top group for me.”

While the new age NIL and transfer portal-ridden college football has ruffled some feathers, Wolverines fans are in no position to complain. The school has as much, if not more, money than everyone, and the academic brand to attract any high school recruit.

Deck is no different, and despite Baylor’s athletic and academic prowess, few schools can match the combination like Michigan.

Moore and Co. still have work to do with this 2026 class, but it already has the makings for one of the better groups in recent memory.
