The report used Verdantix’s independent methodology to compare 16 supply chain sustainability software providers across 10 capabilities and 12 market momentum categories, drawing on a questionnaire, live product demonstrations, and interviews with buyers of supply chain sustainability software. Among 16 vendors, 3E earned high scores in both capabilities and momentum, resulting in a Leader placement in the quadrant. Of note, 3E earned the highest score in the field on AI capabilities and achieved the highest possible score for customer success.

“3E Exchange helps organizations integrate product-level sustainability metrics into strategic portfolio planning, supported by AI-powered capabilities that streamline compliance with complex sustainability requirements,” said Elisa Molero, senior analyst at Verdantix.

Product compliance and supply chain sustainability are converging

Article content

The evaluation reflects a shift 3E’s customers are already navigating. Verdantix research finds that 68% of firms identify complying with product and supply chain sustainability regulations as a top investment priority, and 79% expect those regulations to drive investment over the next two years. More than 80% cite the lack of high-quality social and environmental data as one of the top three barriers to improving supply chain sustainability.

For manufacturers, that means that product compliance increasingly requires considerable chemical and material data from across the supply chain. Proving what is in a product, whether for PFAS, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, or California Prop 65 compliance, or for a digital product passport, means tracing data that originates with suppliers several tiers upstream and is very difficult to collect and manage.

What 3E Exchange delivers

Article content

3E Exchange, the primary platform assessed, helps product compliance, sustainability, and supply chain teams collect and validate product and material data from their suppliers, and turn it into reportable compliance and sustainability information that can be shared across the supply chain. The platform combines component-level traceability, lifecycle and sustainability data, and AI-enabled workflows with more than 35 years of curated regulatory content and a supplier network of more than 250,000 suppliers.

The platform is supported by sustained innovation and M&A investments, including 3E’s December 2022 acquisition of Toxnot, on which 3E Exchange was built; the 2024 acquisition of ChemChain, which added blockchain-based traceability technology; and the July 2026 acquisition of Yordas Group, which strengthened regulatory content and expertise.

“Manufacturers and retailers are under increased pressure that often requires them to have deep insight into the chemicals and substances present in the entire supply chain that contributes to their end product,” said Greg Gartland, CEO of 3E. “3E has made significant strategic investments in innovation across our supply chain and sustainability capabilities because we see supply chain data management as integral to support product compliance strategies for our customers now and in the future.”

3E was also recognized as a Leader in Verdantix, Green Quadrant: Product Compliance Software (2025), September 2025.
