3 suitors for Kyle Tucker after bombshell report from Cubs insider

2 hours ago 3

The Chicago Cubs are on the brink of elimination from the MLB playoffs, and will have the beat the Milwaukee Brewers in three straight games if they want to advance to the NLCS.

That means the offseason decision regarding Kyle Tucker may be coming much sooner rather than later. Recently, Cubs' insider Jesse Rogers responded to a comment on X asking if the Cubs are going to re-sign Tucker.

Rogers response? "No. They were never going to. Anyone that said different was wrong."

This now begs the question of who the top suitors could be for Kyle Tucker if it's not going to be Chicago.

Kyle Tucker's top three potential suitors:

Los Angeles Dodgers

This one is certain to make some people upset, but if Tucker's evaluation is truly north of $400 million, there are only a number of places he could realistically land. Los Angeles also has an opening in left field with Michael Conforto unlikely to re-sign. The Dodgers could offer Tucker a deal for up to 13 years, worth more than $400 million.

New York Mets

The New York Mets' owner Steve Cohen is going to be eager to make a big splash in free agency this season after a dissapointing end to the 2025 season. If the Mets are unable to reach an agreement with Pete Alonso, who has already announced he will opt out of his current deal, then Tucker seems like a logical option to fill a much-needed outfield position in Queens.

San Francisco Giants

San Francisco will be entering the first offseason with Buster Posey leading the charge in the front office. We've seen in the past that San Fran has a willingness to spend a lot of money and make flashy moves (trading for Rafael Devers). The Giants are being speculated as a dark-horse candidate, but if they are comfortable being over the luxury tax, Tucker could be heading to the Bay for the foreseeable future. San Francisco would have to win a bidding war with other top spenders in MLB.
