3 Mistakes WWE made on RAW after Saturday Night's Main Event

The episode of RAW after Saturday Night's Main Event opened with the Vision and Logan Paul confronting the new World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk. The heels were divided, attacking The Maverick as well.

Dominik Mysterio bragged about his latest victory as Intercontinental Champion. He claimed he was the greatest of all time, but Rey Mysterio, his father, interrupted him.

It will lead to a showdown at Survivor Series: WarGames from their hometown of San Diego. Becky Lynch hijacked the show to go on another rant.

The first two matches in the Last Time is Now Tournament to determine John Cena's final opponent were announced. WWE made the next three mistakes on the RAW after Saturday Night's Main Event.

#3. Immediately putting Logan Paul near the World Heavyweight title

CM Punk kicked off RAW after winning the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event. He named several stars who were deserving of a shot, including AJ Styles, JD McDonagh, Sheamus, and others.

He also name-dropped people who were not worthy, including Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, and Dominik Mysterio. The Best in the World said he'd defend the title against anyone, which brought out Logan Paul.

The Maverick lost his last match to John Cena at Clash in Paris. That isn't someone who should be near the front of the line for a title shot. Bookers have no new ideas for Paul.

He gets a big match, and sometimes a title shot, loses, and then disappears. This happened with Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Roman Reigns when they were champions.

#2. A lack of match variety on RAW

Four of the five booked contests on RAW were tag team matches. Penta vs. El Grande Americano was the lone singles contest on the night. This isn't to say that the action wasn't good, but there was a lack of variety.

Nikki Bella teamed with Stephanie Vaquer against Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. The Kabuki Warriors faced Lyra Valkyria and Bayley.

CM Punk teamed with Jey Uso against the Vision. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee successfully defended the World Tag Team titles against the Judgment Day.

#1. Missing the chance for a big debut or return

As if they haven't squared off enough over the last six months, Jey Uso opposed Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker yet again in tag team action. The two sides closed RAW and fought to a double count-out.

The spot would have been perfect for a return like Austin Theory or Brock Lesnar, or to debut for a star like Oba Femi or Tony D'Angelo. Instead, it was the end of Paul's quick face turn, but fans were never going to cheer for him.

This was the perfect spot for a different star to shine, but repetitive booking and reluctance to promote someone have made this never-ending feud less appealing than intended. Seth Rollins' injury isn't an excuse.

Even Roman Reigns showing up to save his cousin would have been a bad decision since that's how he returns from every hiatus. Another issue is why Jimmy Uso failed to appear on RAW. He saves everyone, but didn't do so.
