The Montreal Canadiens were summarily pounded by the visiting Dallas Stars on Thursday night at the Bell Center. The Stars rode a four-goal, second-period outburst to take a 7-0 decision.

Jason Robertson scored twice for the Dallas Stars, with Wyatt Johnston (PPG), Esa Lindell, Tyler Seguin, Alexander Petrovic, and Radek Faksa adding the others.

Jakub Dobes got the start for the Montreal Canadiens. However, he surrendered five goals on 13 shots before exiting after the second period.

So, here’s a look at the three least impressive Montreal Canadiens players from their blowout loss against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night.

#3 Lane Hutson

The Montreal Canadiens' rising star had a terrible night defensively. He was on the ice for four of the Stars’ goals. He saw a total of 18:26 of ice time across 21 shifts.

Here’s a look at one particular goal that showed the young star’s frustration:

The shot from the top of the slot by Jason Robertson got through traffic in front of the Montreal net. Hutson wrestled with a Stars player in front of the net, but to no avail. After the puck hit the back of the net, Hutson managed to restrain himself from smashing his stick on the net. It was that kind of night for the Habs.

#2 Josh Anderson

The Montreal Canadiens' depth forward played under 11 minutes on the night. Unfortunately, his line was burned three times in that short span. He ended the night a minus-3 while racking up four penalty minutes during a third-period tussle.

The veteran forward continues to struggle as he’s managed just two goals and four points in 16 games this season.

#1 Jakub Dobes

Jakub Dobes easily had his worst outing of the season on Thursday night. While Dobes has played well this season, the Stars made short work of him.

Dobes surrendered five goals on just 13 shots. While not every goal can be pinned on Dobes, there were a couple he would have liked to get back.

Here’s a look at one such example as seen on the Stars’ official X account:

The shot beat Dobes cleanly from a distance and angle that the Canadiens' goalie could have stopped. Dobes’ reaction said it all following the goal.

Samuel Montembeault relieved Dobes, giving up two goals on six shots.

The Canadiens will be looking to snap their two-game skid on Saturday night as they host the Boston Bruins at the Bell Centre.
