As someone who loves both photography and cats, this was basically engineered in a lab to appeal directly to me.
Turkish photographer Melahat Ünel captures beautiful candid moments of street cats just out there living their little cat lives completely unbothered by human concerns.
Sleeping in sunbeams, staring into the distance like philosophers, loafing in weird places, and generally doing whatever they want, as cats have done throughout all of recorded history.
What I really love about these photos is how natural they feel. They’re funny, peaceful, and weirdly cinematic all at once. Here are some of Melahat Ünel’s beautiful street cat photographs that we had time to find.
