I’m in my mid-thirties. I’m an adult, and it’s only going to get more adult-y from here. Normally, that would concern me, but I think I’ve finally hit a groove. I’m definitely better at being an adult than I ever was at being a kid.
Everything I did growing up was mostly because there was nothing else to do. Do I miss having fewer responsibilities? Sure. But the freedom that comes with adulthood is pretty nice in its own way.
What I’m trying to say is that life has always kind of sucked. If you can improve your circumstances by leaning into it, you’re probably better off.
That being said, there are parts of adulthood I’d trade for childhood in a heartbeat. I sneezed last week, and now I have to stretch my back every morning. Maybe I should’ve already been doing that, but I’m trying my best here.
