Can we replace all the internet drama with tiny paws and sleepy whiskers?
Are you a cat lover? I assume you are, because why would you be here anyway? If you're not sure about your love for cats, then I'll try to convince you. I've never been a cat person: I've always loved dogs, and that was it. The thing is that I've never had a strong bond with felines, since my parents were also dog people. I knew they were different, and I was scared to approach them. What if they don't like me? And I also assumed that cats don't like to be touched, so it's not like they were welcoming me in.
But now that I'm older, my perspective on cats has changed. It's not like they changed me, but the other way around. After writing about cats and getting to know them on a more personal note, I realized that they aren't as scary as I thought they were. It's not like I was afraid of cats, but they didn't spark loving feelings when I was younger. But now, let me say that I feel so related to them in so many ways.
From starters, they are not people pleasers and they care only about them. That's why you see them alone, and not caring about what's going on around them. Aren't adults like that as well? With time, and the more responsibilities we have, the more we choose to live in peace and become more focused on ourselves, rather than on the outside. It's funny to me that all of those qualities that I didn't like about cats, I can find them now in my own personality. But I don't mind… I actually think it's the healthiest approach I've had in a while.
If you think that I digress a lot and don't really get what I'm saying, is it because you haven't connected with cats yet? Do you want to? But you don't have a cat near you? Well, maybe the pictures below will help you.
