2025 PGA Championship predictions, odds: Best bets for Quail Hollow

2 hours ago 1

The 2025 PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, May 15 at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, N.C.

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, the top two golfers in the world, are the co-favorites at +450, with Bryson DeChambeau right behind them at +700.

With Scheffler, McIlroy, and DeChambeau sucking up so much of the value at the top of the odds, there are bound to be some great opportunities further down the board.

We get into our favorite bets in each tier of the betting board below:

2025 PGA Championship best bets

Top of the board: Justin Thomas (22/1, DraftKings

Justin Thomas has been resurgent in 2025.

The 32-year-old has a win and two runner-up finishes in his last four outings, and he’s got three other top-10 finishes (including another runner-up) already this season.

But it’s not just Thomas’ form that makes him worthy of a bet at this price, it’s also his history in this event and at this course.

Thomas is a two-time winner at the PGA Championship, including in 2017 when the event was held at Quail Hollow. Thomas has played this course six other times, finishing 21st or better in five of those outings.

The Mid-Tier: Viktor Hovland (50/1, FanDuel)

It’s been a Jekyll-and-Hyde year for Viktor Hovland, but his current form and course history make him a terrific option at this price.

Hovland finished first, T21, and T13 before posting a T54 at the Truist last week, indicating that his slow start to the season is well behind him.

The Norwegian has shown that this course fits his skillset, posting a third-place finish at the 2021 Wells Fargo.

Sleeper: Max Homa (170/1, FanDuel)

The on-course trials and tribulations of Max Homa have been well documented, but there’s no ignoring his track record at Quail Hollow.

Homa has a win and two top-10 finishes in four starts at this course, and he is bringing some much-improved form to the party.

Long shot: Phil Mickelson (400/1, BetMGM)

The last long shot to win the PGA Championship, Phil Mickelson cashed as a 250/1 outsider at this event in 2021.

That tells us that Lefty can still come out of nowhere and surprise, which makes him intriguing at this price.

What takes it up another level is the fact that he’s finished 12th or better in 10 of his 14 trips to Quail Hollow in his long career.
