How to Watch the 2025 Emmys and Live From E! Red Carpet
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s love certainly is an open door.
Case in point, celebrating one another’s career milestones like at the 2025 Emmys, where the Armchair Expert host joined his nominated wife. Kristen, up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Nobody Wants This, stepped onto the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Sept. 14 in a backless silver beaded gown with black wraparound straps.
Meanwhile, her husband of 11 years donned a classic black suit as he playfully posed for photos with his longtime love. (See all the celebrities on the red carpet here.)
While Kristen, 45, and Dax, 50, are no stranger to red carpet date nights, this year’s Emmys—hosted by Nate Bargatze—marks a special night out for the parents of two as the Veronica Mars alum is attending as a first-time nominee. (Joining her in the category are Jean Smart, Ayo Edebiri, Quinta Brunson and Uzo Aduba.)
Meanwhile, her onscreen counterpart Adam Brody, who stepped out with wife and season two costar Leighton Meester, also secured his very first nomination in the Lead Actor category.
And though unlike Adam’s longtime love, Dax won’t be appearing in the Netflix hit when season two debuts in October, he is a massive fan of the show.

As Kristen recently revealed, he had quite the reaction to that jaw-dropping kiss between her and Adam’s characters in the first episode after watching it with some friends. In fact, he even documented how thew group felt about the moment so send to her.
"I could hear that music in the background and they were screaming," Bell recalled during the show’s Televerse panel last month, per People. "And he was like, 'Oh my God!'"
As she noted, "He was so excited for these two characters to kiss, which I think says a lot.”
But that’s just par for the course when it comes to Dax and Kristen—parents to Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10—as she’s previously detailed how their “foundational trust” is always at the root of their life together, even when the script calls for some steamy moments.
“Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he's committed to our family,” Kristen told E! News in February at the 2025 SAG Awards. “I know he's coming home. I know he loves our children. I know he strives to be a great husband and father.”
