Autumn? Did it start or…
I hate the feeling when a season changes, but it still feels like it didn't. If the season changed, then I expect the first day of said season to feel the correct temperature. If it's autumn, then why haven't I yet seen yellow, brown, and green tree leaves on the ground; why haven't I felt the temperature a little chilly; why isn't it raining every five seconds? From the 21st, I'm always expecting to feel like the season is supposed to feel; I hate having to wait days for the weather to actually change. That said, I also hate when it's supposed to be a season, and it starts feeling like another one. For example, those days in summer when suddenly it's really chilly outside, and I have to change the bikini top for a hoodie. If it's summer, then it's hot out, not a mixture of all seasons the whole year. I like my seasons feeling like the correct one, with the correct weather for it.
Autumn is a particularly nice season; some would say that it's the best one —I'm some people. It's nice to go out with a coat but not be extremely chilly, to eat hot cocoa or coffee but not get frozen on the way out, to watch series while trapped inside a blanket, but not needing to turn on the heater. Is the chilly, not-so-chilly weather; it's the best of both worlds. I have certain traditions when it comes to autumn. I like to wear more earthy colors in my clothes, to have more coffee than usual, and, of course, watch Gilmore Girls. That TV show is autumn made into a series. I like feeling like I'm one of them, as if I were actually Lorelai Gilmore, drinking my hot coffee at a dinner while living in a town that organizes events for the people. It's the dream life of every book girly who loves autumn. So now, get your book, your blanket, and a hot beverage, and enjoy this weather. Enjoy the autumness of this season; I can promise you you will miss it when it's gone.
