Special Forces: World's Toughest Test recruits Mark Estes and Christie Pearce Rampone made emotional exits from the Fox competition series after being forced to leave over respective health problems.

2 Stars Abruptly Quit ‘Special Forces: World's Toughest Test’

Two of Special Forces' toughest recruits are headed home—and not by choice.

Christie Pearce Rampone and Mark Estes were forced to exit season four early during the Fox reality competition series' Nov. 6 episode amid separate health problems.

On day seven of the physically and mentally taxing experience, Christie woke up in the Moroccan desert barely able to breathe after coughing all night long. Struggling badly with the respiratory issues, the retired Olympic soccer champion asked to see a doctor.

"I need something," the 49-year-old told Special Forces Dr. Andy Brown, "I can’t breathe."

Following the checkup, the doctor had bad news for the former sports star.

"Your chest sounds really tight and you’ve got lots of crackles in your lungs as well," Andy told Christie. "I think you’ve probably got a chest infection. I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to do anymore exercise."

That meant a forced medical withdrawal, which caused the World Cup champ to burst into tears. And even though she was disappointed over having to leave the show early, the Special Forces directors commended Christie on her determination and perseverance.

Still, the departure was emotional for Christie.

"If I have to leave earlier than I feel I was capable of, I think it will definitely get at me," she admitted in a confessional. "And not being as strong as I thought I was."

That same morning, Mark was also feeling bruised and battered from the many grueling tests of strength.

"My ear feels so f--ked up," he told his costars. "It feels so weird."

And after Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia noted the TikToker had a blister following several rough combat exercises, Mark remarked, "Literally gave my cauliflower ear."

During his own visit with a medic, Mark admitted the pain in his ear was worsening.

As the medic noted, "There is some swelling there. It can cause long-term disfigurement."

She then urged the Special Forces directors, "No. 3 needs to go to hospital to be seen by an EMT surgeon as soon as possible."

Wanting to fight on in the competition, Mark asked, "There’s no possible way we can do it?" to which the medic replied, "No, it’s a specialist procedure."

The disappointed 24-year-old responded, "That f--king sucks."

Despite his untimely exit, the directors applauded Mark for doing a "really good job” in bootcamp before sending him packing.
