15-year-old busted after deadly Seattle Center food festival shooting, second suspect still on the run: mayor

A 15-year-old was arrested in connection to Sunday night’s senelss shooting at a popular Seattle food festival that left three dead and injured four, including a toddler, officials said.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson shared the update on the investigation on Monday while cops said another suspect died and the whereabouts of a third is still “unknown.”

“We believe this teenager opened fire in the crowd, but details are still under investigation,” Wilson said at a press conference. 

The mayor said the unnamed teen is being investigated for firearms violations and first degree assault.

Neither the mayor nor Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes made reference to a third shooter at the press conference earlier in the day. 

However, Barnes had said that they were looking into whether or not a second shooter was among those who had died.

Two men, ages 19 and 44, and a 56-year-old woman were killed in the shooting, authorities said. 

A 2-year-old was also wounded in the violence, but is said to be in stable condition. 

Two men in their twenties as a 39-year-old woman were discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment, authorities said.
