12 teens shot after rowdy Georgia birthday party spills into nearby park

A dozen teens were shot and wounded at a chaotic birthday party gone awry in Georgia Saturday night, according to local authorities and reports.

Two of the victims –- who ranged in age from 17 to 19 — were left in critical condition and the rest stable.

Gunfire broke out around midnight at Carolyn Crayton Park in Macon, where a “large gathering” had congregated following a birthday party at a nearby Airbnb, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Gunfire erupted after a group including high schoolers were told to leave an Airbnb they were partying in and gathered at a nearby park. 13WMAZ

The group, which included high schoolers, had been asked to leave that Airbnb during their party, and ended up congregating at Crayton Park.

A separate group arrived at the park, and an argument broke out between them — before gunfire erupted and 12 were wounded, 13WMAZ reported.

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis told reporters he “can’t remember the last time we’ve had this many people shot at one time.”

No arrests have been made yet, while the FBI has been assisting due to the large number of victims and participants.
