“Simple, streamlined, and '60s-inspired” is how senior shopping editor Nashia Baker describes Article's Meja dining chairs. “My Brooklyn apartment has a moody, midcentury vibe—mainly from details like my barrel accent chair and deep burgundy, floral area rug in my living room—so these seats were a natural fit,” she says. While the silhouette’s curved backrest nails the classic MCM aesthetic Baker strives to achieve, the angular legs jut out ever so slightly for a more contemporary look. “My friends always gravitate to this part of my apartment now for work sessions and sangria nights, and even after sitting for hours, no one’s said a thing about the seats feeling stiff,” says Baker.

Paired with the Meja dining chairs, Article’s Plumas table helped Baker convert a nook in her living room into her dream dining setup. With slightly angular legs and rounded corners, the table evokes a classic, midcentury silhouette. The extendable feature is accessible simply by pulling a latch underneath the table and sliding either end apart. The Lubek outdoor sectional is partly Scandi-influenced, slightly LA-presenting, and very affordable according to contributor Meg Kernahan. The Colorado-based mom of two was looking for a comfortable and stylish sofa to be the focal point of her newly renovated outdoor space. “This couch is exactly that: large enough to comfortably seat six people around an outdoor firepit and durable enough for my toddler to climb on,” she says. Sporting a tapered, ladder-esque shape, the bottom shelves start wide and deep at the bottom and get narrower the higher up it goes, which comes in handy if the goal is to display more than just books, Fletcher points out. In addition to her paperbacks, she says, “I have a few baskets on my bottom shelf containing all sorts of knickknacks and accessories.”

“I love that Article manages to keep its designs stylish without being fussy or overpriced,” says contributor Zoë Sessums. With clean lines, smoked oak legs, and a sleek velvet finish, the Sanders sofa “makes an impact without feeling massive,” according to Sessums, who tested the sofa for last year’s Seat Week. Article’s Cigar leather sofa has the “soft, buttery” rawhide tan texture of a baseball glove, but the rounded curves of a marshmallow. “The Cigar sofa’s back is on the lower side, but I cannot emphasize enough how perfect it is for a New York City apartment with a doorway so narrow it is functionally a nightclub bouncer for furniture,” says digital features editor Charlotte Collins. Comparing it to “an heirloom piece repurposed for modern interiors,” she praises the seat padding as seemingly indent-proof, and appreciates that the silhouette is deep enough for napping.

The Sven Sectional was actually the first Article product the Shop AD team tested as part of Seat Week back in 2022. “I would consider the sofa to be very much the Goldilocks of couches—not too big, not too small, and an overall crowd-pleaser,” says shopping editor Audrey Lee, who was impressed by the brand’s efficient delivery process and the Sven’s easy assembly. Moa makes a convincing case for keeping your clutter in plain sight, provided it’s hidden under a very good-looking lid. “This storage side table is an elegant deception: Perfect for storing jumbles of books, remotes, or whatever needs to mysteriously disappear,” says tester Chapin Rockwell. “And, the best part, there’s no assembly required.” The rounded walnut edges and solid plinth base give it an air of sophistication, and the generous interior storage provides a home for Rockwell’s throw blanket collection and other basics.

“Article’s Torme desk has cracked my at-home productivity problem,” McGregor tells us. This oak design is spacious and sturdy. It’s able to comfortably fit a laptop, monitor, and keyboard, as well as the DIYer’s sewing machine and serger side-by-side. Sleeper sofas are another area where Article excels. Contributor Mackenzie Chung Fegan reports that the “minimalist Nordby Sofa Bed is attractively priced and easy to convert, with a pullout component that slides into place next to the sofa seat and forms a mattress roughly the size of a full-size pullout bed.” Those who lack ample square footage and who have a penchant for particularly firm mattresses might find this design to be the perfect fit, though Chung Fegan warns that the seat depth can “feel ungenerous” at times.
